After using the "machine gun" couple of weeks, it's a proper time to write a review on my lovely D2Hs. After switching my device from D70s to D2Hs, it seems that the world of photography is totally changed, when you first get your machine on your hand and press the shutter bottom on the main body or the "build-in grip", you must be compelled to say, wow, unbelievable fast response and can't feel any time lag between every single shot. When you switch the mode from single shot to the continuous high speed, then you should prepare yourself to hold your machine steady, it is because you seem holding a machine gun
By the way, besides of the consideration of the "orthodox bloodline", the mature noise control and ultra-speed did attracted me to hunt for this rare camera, after all, one of the main reasons that impressed me as well was the film-like photo quality. Of course, it is subjective but it is the common feeling of the D2H's family. It is not only the reporter's camera but a fantastic one for everyone who like Nikon, some of the Nikonians afraid that 4mp is not enough for nowadays standard. I should say, it is a totally bullshit. Yes, I know 4mp is not enough for outputing a large photo in "technically" speaking, however, D2Hs could make it! Believe me, it is more than satisfactory.
To conclude, I won't believe in the enhancement of photo quality in terms of the limited hardware upgrade but I do believe that the reliable and high quality of the body could not be easily upgraded. Don't forget, up till now, D2 series still have their advantages of focusing and metering system, it can't be defeated by D200. If you claimed that it is a new model only in terms of size, good handling or so-called photo quality, it is not upgrading a great deal but just a "new model". Last but not least, how can you imagine a raw file is 2-3mb and high quality JPG is only 1-2mb in nowadays high mp's world? I finally got a machine that is perfectly matched with my outdated Centrino. Though I am not standing on the side of "ps" but at least I need to have a normal speed of converting the photo from Raw to JPG, what a terrible speed when the photos were taken by D70s!!!
