very good lens, price reasonable (compare with LB4, LB5, sigma 70-200 HSM f2.8 and Tamron 70-200 f2.8)
The picture quality is sharper then Tamron and sigma, no doubt, I personally tried those lens and LB3 is the sharpest in those 3 lens.
The Auto Focus is very fast when used on D700, faster then using it on D80, I think the focus speed related to the body.
I have been thinking to get either Sigma 70-200 f2.8, Tarmon 70-200 f2.8 and LB3 for a long long long time....each lens have their pro and cons, sigma is good at focus, very fast but soft at f2.8!
Tarmon is the cheapest and lightest with usable f2.8,
LB3 have the best picture quality, fast focus when used on D700( D3 or D300)

雖然此鏡真的不錯...但因手裡有105/1.8 + 135/2 + 180/2.8 + 200/4 micro...故真的很少用它
唯一要提的是此鏡真的很方便...雖然看似不輕..
但一次過有齊85 + 105 + 135 + 180 + 200這五個焦段又有恆定2.8光圈而成像又不錯的..唯有小黑系列...

The very good price / performance Nikon F2.8 zoom lens.
Image is natural not much artificial coloring.
VR is good function, but if u r eager to take good photo quality, stabilities issue can be overcome.

I've connected it with both D80 and D40. Basically, the picture quality is no different between D80 and D40. So, more or less on the photo technique. The key different is AF available.
Without AF, I totally use manual focus inside D40. The picture quality is very sharp and excellent. In D80, focusing is fast and not bad than SWF. At least to a Sunday family photographer like me, the speed is more than enough.
Initially, it is very difficult for me to handle because of its size and manual focus. The quality can be even poor than my DC. However, after two months intensive work with it, I start to understand its best function and love its image so much.

因無錢, $5200入了全齊(+Hood and filter) ニ手行貨. 勁新, 非常滿意, 同LB5 比較過D相, 質數無セ分別, 但唔夠快, 都算嘈, 外形一般, 但己經十分滿意, 想信唔會花多$6000-7000 上LB5了, 留番D錢買支Macro了

小黑三有冇走焦?我支有。有冇問題？冇問題。我唔會用一枝遠攝鏡ZOOM到TELE影近物當MACOR鏡用。有需要我會用支MACRO鏡。小黑三，抵用，好用，質素高。
