一向都幫人影畢業相，未買呢支之前就拎1D 28-70 2.8， 70-200 2.8，17-40 4.0。 換鏡換到想發脾氣，跟住知道有呢支鏡之後就入左手，當然當時諗左好多因素，因為據聞28-300呢支野個光學質素好似麻麻，防震又據聞係一般。加上價錢去到$18000。不過入手之後，我就發覺到當初唔應該諗咁多野，因為佢影出黎既相比28-70及70-200係不相伯仲(某些網站及測試得出28-70比24-70優性)，重量係重，但都可接受，防震效果都明顯。係一支好好好好既鏡。
千萬不要相信某一期DCFEVER既各廠 28-300 之測試比較，該測試得出結果是無論外表及內涵也份量十足的canon竟然輸得徹底。原因相信是友牌不斷在DCFEVER落廣告及提供贊助..............

優點:
一般認定28-300如此大的部率，成像質素（銳利度、反差、色彩、層次、昡光、鬼影、色散、變形、暗角等)必定次佳。但EF 28-300mm f3.5-5.6L IS USM 畫質優越、色彩鮮豔加上極強的層次感和分辨識能力，使用起來又十分方便。
缺點:
又貴、又重！最可惜是此鏡並非恆定光圈

正如很多評論所指是一支" 重鏡 "，Canon EF28-300 / f 3.5-5.6 IS USM 實現了一鏡走天涯的夢想！此鏡畫質優越、色彩鮮豔( 並非其它牌子的28-300可比 )，使用起來十分方便。對個人來說最可惜是此鏡並非恆定光圈。

用呢支鏡黎代替已沿用多年的EF35-350mm F3.5-5.6L USM. 新鏡基本做工很好.

Slow focusing in low light condition, compared to F2.8 zoom lenses.
Net report shows there is a slight degree of barrel distortion at 28mm, but in real world usage, it is a lot better than the report claims. If you know how to get around it, there is no problem at all.

I must say this is a great purchase without any regrets.
This was bought prior to my holiday 2 months ago along with my 16-35 II and 35L on a 1 series body. This combo will cover 99% of your travelling needs.
The great thing about this lens is you could capture a lot more shots in different persepctive than a 24-70 and 70-200 combo, because you can just go from wide to tele so fast. And it is so convenient there is no need to change lenses all the time.
There are reports from the net doubting the quality of this lens. From my personal experience, I dare say this can rival the 24-70 and 70-200 in terms of sharpness and will have identical colour redention. Even at 300mm, the quality is very good as I do not observe increased softness in this focal length. (but please don't compare this with F2.8 or F4 300mm, it is just not fair)
If there is going to be an update version of this lens. I wish it can go wider to 24mm, with a more advanced IS system.
With the continuing improvements in ISO performance, this lens will only be more and more usable.
