優點:
- with VR II it is super useful , you can handheld night shot @ 1/4s or 1/5s @f5.6 and still get very sharp shoot
- Nano help reduced flare and 光班 greatly, but not completely
- the 16mm is useful in taking scenery
- It is the lightest ultra - wide @ 680g for FX
- No more carrying of a tripod
- the price is cheaper amongst the 3 Ultra-wide @ around 10k.
- You can use CPL, ND filter on this lens, unlike 14-24 (no filter)
- 收一收光圈到5.6, very sharp , and sharpest MTF for all focal length
- Colour is as good as 1735 , i feel it has more saturation than 1735, d 色還原比較好.
缺點:
- the lens is a bit long, just like the AFS 24-70 f2.8
- the lens is not 100% built from metal just as the 17-35 f2/8, so there is a little of plastic feel
- the largest aperature starting @ f/4 , some ppl won't like it, but not a matter to me
- without aperature ring, you cannot use on film bodies
- Distortion @ 16mm is horrible(none in 20-35 range), but easily correct in NX2 or PShop
- The focus is tad slower than 17-35 f2.8 due to the inclusion of VRII
- This lens will be very hard to get than the 14-24, because supply will be always so limited

I am an owner of previous AFS 17-35 f/2.8, I sold it and switch to this one
I paid a bit deposit for 14-24 originally, but then after reading tons of overseas forum, i decided to switch and buy this 16-35.
Get this 16-35 for FX format. This is the king of ultra-wide for FX. It is also the sharpest among the 3. The 14-24 cannot take filter and less in range. The 17-35 does not have VR
The 16-35 is design truely for FX ,
