i really dislike it

focus is really NOT accurate. i normally use 'area' focus mode, even it gives green signal, outcome is that the photo is so obscure. this issue is much better on XC15-60. at the end for so many times i had to turn to 'manual' focus mode, that gives me so much trouble.
it loses focus even more easily than which of XC15-60mm.
in terms of colour, maybe not much different... but i had a feeling XC16-50mm gives a bit more colourful images.
distortion...i cannot compare, some angles it seems a bit better, but it gives a different kind of distortions than that of XC16-50mm. my conclusion is... both have rather serious distortion problem which I have problems with.
I regret I bought this. to me this one give no differences in terms of distortion and the rest of the condition it gives no advantages and even worse than XC15-60mm.

i first bought an XM-1 with kit lens XC16-50mm, it was ok but the distortion was too serious for me, then I bought the XF35mm F1.4, very good, maybe i was not used to the narrow angle(or focus length) but i loved it after a while.

呢支係一支屈機鏡，同級鏡無敵，人地F/3.5起，佢就F/2.8起，畫質又好。
可惜跟18-135同16-55就顯得雞肋，樣樣都差少少，當然唔係話支KIT唔好，而係其他鏡太好。以今時今日既市場呢個焦段有啲過時，WIDE唔夠WIDE，TELE唔夠TELE，若能二取其一可錦上添花，貴少少都唔係問題。

I use this on my XE1.
When you close focus, it is easier to get an AF using wide and then zoom it in, but sometimes, the supposely sharp focusing will loose its focus.
Overall, a good walk-around zoom with image quality that more or less can rival fixed focus lens - good bargain for the money. Pairing it with the upcoming 55-200, you are looking at a serious package for normal daily shooting!
Damned motor, battery drain - FUJI camera does not give you too much warning before battery went dead! Be prepared, the moment you see the "Red death image" of battery, you are probably down to less than 5 more shots!

我係跟機set買, 果然無買錯....用過C記kit鏡, S記Kit鏡, 呢支得係打底哂佢地...

我一般用支奶鏡去影相，買XE﹣1時只想配支有AF的KIT 鏡， 有時familiy gathering 時方便D， 無咩要求，見呢支 鏡有ZOOM又大光圈幾岩玩， 便買左呢個KIT。
其實我起初覺得支鏡幾貴，呢個價夠買支2手菜頭或奶頭， 初初唔識用以為行野， 玩落覺支鏡是好野，仲愈玩愈驚喜， 影出來D相， 色，散景， 光暗位都滿意，無奶鏡甘勁但都叫做到野， 起初以為開大光圈中焦位會散點知又OK， 以為wide會變形又無， 以為室內會唔夠光，以為逆光無晒D細緻但全都OK，光學FUJINON真係強，看來個鍍膜在日系鏡中真係得N記有得比， 機械部份明顯比不上N記， 跟德系鏡更有距離，最後我個人評有80分，攪到我好期特將來新出的fujinon ZOOM鏡
