Nikon response to their entry DSLR user by adding VR to their good value 18-55 EDII. I have both 18-55 EDII & 18-55 VR which new lens construction feels better. Also on the zoom ring. VR works good in low light situation. Match with D40/D60 just a all around camera. 18mm wide not as good as EDII, but 55mm is better then EDII. For this price there is no doubt to getting one!!!

小弟用過其18－55 2代（即有ED鏡)、對於這第3代 Kit、雖然無左片ED鏡, 但加了VR, 對於黒暗環鏡而又不能用燈起了不少作用。 而質感好過2代好多（拿上手便知）、変焦環也結實了不少。 質数方便、 我覺得2代同3代分別不大（如不是聞相的話）。其實VR已是N鏡新標準, 有興朋友可一試、 但對起2代貴一千而多過VR功能, 抵唔抵就你決定、 但當然有新鏡就買新鏡吧。
